The Suits franchise has officially returned with its latest spin-off, Suits LA, which follows a group of attorneys in the City of Angels.
Arrow star Stephen Amell leads the cast as Ted Black, a lawyer who left his job in New York to start a practice representing powerful clients in Los Angeles. However, Ted struggles to keep the business afloat, while his colleagues can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.
Suits LA also stars The Walking Dead’s Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Ricky Stanicky’s Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, and One Tree Hill’s Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen.
The show’s dramatic first episode premiered on NBC last week. Victoria Justice entered the fray as ambitious young movie star Dylan Pryor, who arrived at the office looking for legal representation.
As her character continues to make waves in the legal drama, let’s take a look at Victoria’s life away from the show.
Victoria grew up in Hollywood, where she attended Cleveland High School, before receiving her diploma through a home school programme.
She began her acting career at the tender age of ten, making a guest appearance on the Gilmore Girls episode ‘The Hobbit, the Sofa and Digger Stiles’.
It didn’t take long for Victoria to realise that she wanted to pursue acting, as she landed roles in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and the 2005 short film Mary.
In 2005, Victoria was also accepted into a musical theatre programme at the Millikan Performing Arts Academy. She later appeared in Zoey 101 and Hallmark Channel film Silver Bells, which became a Hallmark Hall of Fame film.
After appearing in several Nickelodeon shows, Victoria was cast as the lead character in the broadcaster’s newest teen sitcom Victorious – which premiered in 2010.
The series centred around Tori Vega, an aspiring singer who joins an eccentric group of talented teens at a performing arts high school in Hollywood.
Its cast also included Leon Thomas, Matt Bennett, Elizabeth Gillies, Avan Jogia, and Daniella Monet, and even launched the career of Wicked star Ariana Grande.
The show received a whopping 5.7 million views after its pilot, but wasn’t renewed after its third season. Victoria recorded several songs for the series throughout its run and shared a recording set with different young artists.
After Victorious was cancelled, Nickelodeon developed a new spin-off, titled Sam & Cat, which starred Ariana Grande and iCarly actor Jennette McCurdy. The channel has since announced another spin-off, this time centred on Tori’s older sister Trina Vega.
Victoria has appeared in many movies and TV shows since Victorious, and is an avid charity supporter after attending events for the United Nations Foundation and Girl Up.
Rumours that Victoria and Ariana Grande didn’t get along during their time on Victorious started swirling while they were filming.
The speculation increased when Victoria and some of her Victorious castmates gave an interview about the show, in which they were asked to choose who sings the most behind-the-scenes.
After the group agreed on Ariana and Elizabeth Gillies, Victoria quickly interjected, saying: “I think we all sing” – a comment that became an instant meme.
Victoria addressed the drama not long after the clip went viral again in 2017, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “I think we ALL have better things 2 do than dredging up 7 yr old non-existent drama. That said, I’m kind of excited to finally be a meme.”
Following Ariana’s success in last year’s musical blockbuster Wicked – which earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2025 Oscars – Victoria shared her pride for her former co-star.
“I’m so happy for her, she absolutely crushed it,” she told E! News this week. “It’s phenomenal to be nominated for an Oscar.”
Victoria went on to share that the Victorious cast still have a “text thread” where they’re able to keep in touch, despite their busy schedules.
She added: “It goes through ebbs and flows of being active. But I think no matter what, we all went through such pivotal points of our lives together that whether or not we’re hanging out all the time, we’re always going to be rooting for one another. And that’s how I feel about [Ariana] and every single one of my cast members.”
