Nothing predestined Brenda and Brandon to meet one day or another, and yet they were welcomed into the same cat sanctuary in California. Paw in paw, this mother and her son with “wild” behavior are now trying to gradually open up to the world around them.
A few days ago, World Animal News looked back on the adventures of a cat, Brenda , and her kitten, Brandon . These began in a construction site in the town of Daggett, USA, where the duo appeared to have called home for a while.
Mother and son will be separated for a short time
They were fed there by a member of the company present on site, but as the entire team’s holidays approached, the two felines had to be urgently rehoused in a shelter. Their capture, and in particular that of the mother, was not an easy task. The duo had a “ wild ” behavior, and did not really enjoy the company of humans.
For 3 weeks, mother and son were separated, before reuniting at The Cat House on the Kings , the largest cat sanctuary in California. Brenda and Brandon were very happy to see each other again! “ This meeting may seem trivial to many of us, but for this cat and her kitten , it is a real victory ” confided Simone Reyes , volunteer.
The fearful duo must now try to calm down
From now on, the good Samaritans of The Cat House on the Kings hope that the duo will be less hostile towards those around them. “ Brandon is happy to have found his mother, but he adopts the same behavior as her. Brenda teaches him to hide and be wary of people, and he complies with her demands, ” explains Simone .
It’s a safe bet that mother and son will take just a little more time to trust others. They can count on volunteers to give them all the patience they need. More than 700 cats live in this sanctuary , and over time, Brenda and Brandon may enjoy their company!
