CHICAGO — In a historic moment for the Chicago Cubs, outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker have officially been named National League starters for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, marking the first time in nearly 90 years that two Cubs outfielders will start together in the Midsummer Classic.
The rare honor, announced Tuesday night after the final phase of fan voting, sends a strong message: the Cubs are back in the spotlight, and their stars are helping lead the way.
This marks the first time since 1936 — when Augie Galan and Frank Demaree took the field — that a pair of Cubs outfielders will start together in an All-Star Game. Cubs manager Craig Counsell didn’t understate the significance, telling reporters:
“It’s enormous. It’s a big deal for those guys. Good teams absolutely have that.”
Both selections were earned through dominant first-half performances and fervent fan support, with Crow-Armstrong and Tucker receiving the highest vote totals among NL outfielders.
Pete Crow-Armstrong: A Star is Born
The 22-year-old rookie Pete Crow-Armstrong has taken the league by storm. With 21 home runs, 25 stolen bases, and elite defensive play in center field, he has captured the hearts of Cubs fans and the respect of the baseball world.
