Dog Guides Woman to Lost Cat: Woman joyfully reunites with lost cat, thanks to loyal dog.

November 10, 2023 by Nhat Anh

There’s nothing like the power of a dog’s sense of smell, especially when he’s determined to find a loved one. A female called Daisy gave her owner hope when she was losing it after her cat was nowhere to be found for almost a week.

A lost cat was found at the bottom of an old mine thanks to its dog friend, the latter having guided their mistress and the emergency services to its location. A story reported by the BBC on Wednesday November 8.

Michele Rose lives in Harrowbarrow in Cornwall, in the southwest of England. She is the owner of a dog called Daisy and 2 cats named Mowgli and Baloo .

Daisy “ is quite matriarchal and […] very protective of ” her feline companions. They form a tight-knit trio. The dog has just proven her attachment in the most beautiful way.

Mowgli had vanished, plunging his human into deep worry which only grew more pronounced as the days passed. Michele Rose had been looking for him ever since, but after 6 days, she began to become discouraged. It was thanks to Daisy that she found hope again.

Daisy’s call to the mine

The two were walking through the woods near their home when the dog suddenly became very agitated. She headed towards the old Prince of Wales mining site , then stopped short at the entrance to the mine shaft . Daisy wanted her owner to follow her at all costs.

Michele Rose understood immediately; this is where the missing tuxedo cat was located. The cavity was deep, however, and it was getting darker and darker. So she couldn’t see him. She called for help, but the RSPCA and local firefighters ( Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service ) were unable to respond in the darkness.

“Daisy is a superstar”

An RSPCA rescue team arrived on scene the following morning and got to work straight away. Rescue officer Stephen Findlow and his comrades were able to see Mowgli at a depth of 30 meters. They then managed to hoist it to the surface. Luckily, the twink was not injured.

It is a Michele Rose full of gratitude who was able to find her beloved Mowgli after this long period of anguish. Gratitude towards the rescue, but also and above all towards his dog. “ Daisy is a superstar ,” she said. She’s an incredible dog .”

“ Without Daisy, Mowgli would still be at the bottom [of the mine shaft], that’s for sure ,” continues his mistress.

Baloo was just as happy to see his friend and friend again. The 2 cats were adopted by Michele Rose in December 2022. Daisy was one year old at that time and the 3 quickly became inseparable.
