United Assistance: Multiple Organizations Join Forces to Aid 46 Felines Residing Together.

December 20, 2023 by Nhat Anh

Multiple organizations unite to provide assistance to 46 felines residing together under one roof.

In Wisconsin, in the United States, several local associations were alerted to the presence of 46 cats in a single home. Suffering from poor conditions linked to this overcrowded space, the felines had to receive emergency care.

The discovery of this large group of cats was made in Monroe County , WEAU reported . A report allowed the care of these captive felines. Several associations visited the site. One of them, the Eau Claire County Humane Association ( ECCHA ), shared the story of this rescue with its followers on Facebook .

Hand in hand work between the different local associations

As reported by the Eau Claire County Humane Society , the rescue was carried out by several local associations, given the scale of the mission. The association present on Facebook shared with its subscribers the unfolding of the facts, in particular for 11 cats.

After being found in a house, living in a very confined space, the felines were transferred to a veterinarian for a general examination of their state of health. While some cats were found to be in good health, despite the living conditions endured , others had to be entrusted to a veterinary clinic to undergo a battery of additional tests.

15 dollars per day: the cost of care deciphered by the association

Through one of these Facebook posts , the ECCHA association returned to the need to raise awareness among Internet users of the cost of caring for a feline. Indeed, a rescue of this scale represents a heavy burden for an association. The volunteers estimated the cost at 15 dollars per day, or 14 euros. The total cost, for one week, therefore amounted to 1155 dollars, or 1050 euros. To meet the needs of these rescued cats, volunteers asked for help from Internet users. They responded and donations reached the association.

The numerous donations made it possible to respond to a certain number of issues. The sterilization of several felines was ensured, as well as the purchase of transport crates, beds and toys.

After several weeks, the rescued cats were put up for adoption and gradually found families to welcome them.

Noah syndrome: a well-known disorder of associations

According to the volunteers, the discovery of these cats is not unrelated to a syndrome known by animal associations: Noah syndrome . This disorder results in a strong tendency to accumulate animals in one’s home. Very often, this accumulation is accompanied by an inability to care for animals, which leads to situations of abuse and neglect.

In the case of this rescue, the cats were apparently left to their own devices. They suffered from deficiencies, illnesses and a lack of interaction.

If there is no real cure for this syndrome, it is often the associations that take over and can come to the aid of animal victims of these situations.
