“Wildlife Misunderstanding: Frantic Mother Wildebeest Unintentionally Launches Herself While Protecting Unrelated Calf”

October 29, 2023 by admin

Wildebeest are herbivores, often living in herds on the vast African savanna. They are a relatively gentle, shy species. The rare weapon that the wildebeest is equipped with by “mother nature” is the sharp horns on its head. As a result, wildebeest can choose to attack to defend themselves, instead of running away like other herbivores. Besides, the overwhelming advantage of wildebeest also makes hunters afraid.

However, the wildebeest’s horns are not as large and pointed as the wild buffalo. They also do not have the strength and endurance needed to “unilaterally” deal with large, or numerically superior predators such as lions, jackals, hyenas or sometimes leopards.

In the video, Realizing that the baby antelope was weak, unable to walk firmly on its 4 legs, 2 jackals continuously attacked from many sides, in order to take the prey’s life, Fortunately, the mother antelope also had present at the battle, showing fierce and strong resistance in the midst of the encirclement, causing the two predators to have a hard time.

However, as time passed, the mother and daughter antelope began to lose their advantage. Every time the mother antelope attacks a jackal, the other will sneak up from behind and try to attack the baby antelope. At one point, they were able to bite the neck, calves, and abdomen of the ill-fated animal.

The mother antelope also gradually became tired, and lost her composure at the persistence of the predator. In a moment, when she saw the baby antelope being bitten and dragged away, the mother antelope rushed forward, but accidentally hit the baby antelope. The impact caused the baby antelope to be lifted, before falling back to the ground. The ill-fated animal appeared to have been severely injured, and could not sit up.
